One of the things I love about fall is the FASHION!! Needless to say, I was all in when Avenue Plus Size Clothing gave me an invitation to peruse this season’s newest looks. I was like:
LOL, but since I can’t do that, I narrowed my wish list down to the 4 items featured in this post.
For starters, sweaters are a staple in EVERY woman’s closet because they are so versatile. A good sweater can be worn so many ways depending on the material, color and overall look you’re going for. And in case you didn’t know, I’m all for the gaudy and embellished look, so yaaas hunT bring on the sheer and bling! Both sweaters were rather dressy so heels were definitely the option for me.
Now on to the dresses…I love floor length dresses don’t get me wrong, but I also love to show a lil leg at times too. It’s all about balance right?? Not to mention, I had just recently purchased some new thigh high boots that desperately needed to be worn (insert laugh) so I seized the moment!
Check out all the looks and let me know in the comments which one you liked best.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I will see in my next post… xx, Nij ♥
Ok gurls, so last weekend, I had the opportunity to work behind the scenes with Designer Thomas Lavone for his sample sale. And of course there were deals on top of deals!!! Most of the items were for smaller sizes, but there were some pieces for curvy women. But no fear, a little birdie told me that another sample sale is in the works and that it’d be dedicated to all the curvy chicas like me!!!
Can we say yaaaaaaaaaaaaas???
So, in order to be in the know, make sure you head on over to Facebook and like his page for all the deets, upcoming events…and/or to simply admire his gorgeous designs.
In the meantime, check out my latest YouTube video here, which includes some behind the scenes footage and an impromptu beat by John Wesley, Regional Account Director of Fashion Fair Cosmetics!!! How cool is that??
By the way…that same day somebody went out on a date…but I’ain the one to gossip so you aint heard that from! LOL Here’s the 411 on the date…
Lastly before you go, I’d love to hear your feedback. So please if you will, leave a comment and/or subscribe to see more from me…ya gurl Nij ♥

Hello Hello and Hello again to all my Fabulous Ladies aka my FABBIES! It’s been a minute and a lot of happened in these past 3 months, including the launch of my official site! And what better way to celebrate, than with a new blog review.
So the dress I am reviewing today is the Stripe Flounce Maxi Dress. Now maxi dresses are my absolute fave because they’re super cute, they keep you cool in the summer heat and can be dressed up or down depending on occasion…and yall also know that I love a mean shoulder cut out too! Needless to say, this maxi dress gave me all of that and more.
I ordered a size 14/16 and I believe it fit great, I love the length and it turned a lot of heads…so what do you think? Was it a hit or miss? Comment below and let a sista know.
Also if you shop the look today, you can enjoy 50% off! And I know yall love to save a coin just as much as I do.
So, this entire week has been bananas!! From the Avenue feature (here) to walking for designer Thomas Lavone at Philly Fashion Week on Saturday.
I’m still amazed that for the 3rd year in a row, Thomas Lavone has asked me to be one of his guest models. For those who don’t know, he was my pageant coach in 2013 and he continues to mentor me since my win. I’m honored that he entrusts me to represent his brand.
I wasn’t able to snap many pics but I managed to get a few while backstage:
Also shout out to Joe Clarke Photography for catching Thomas Lavone’s entire collection. Each piece was amazing…from pant suits with pockets and capes to floor length gowns. Psst, make sure you watch the entire video…there’s a pleasant surprise!
Lastly, check out the hashtags #phillyfashionweek and #pfw17 for more pics and videos.

So let me just say this #LBD was simply love at first sight! While perusing Avenue’s latest styles and selections, I was like hold up wait a minute!!!! I gotta have this sassy black number. Us gals know the importance of having at least 1 little black dress in our closet -and this one right here satisfies that necessity. Between the grommet and lace detail along the sleeves and leg, I screamed yaaaaaaaaaaas as I shimmied into it. A pair of simple black pumps completed the look and voila!
I know I wasn’t the only one semi-obsessed with getting my hands on one of those Ugly Sweaters…which are soooo ridiculously cute by the way. This one in particular definitely makes a personal statement because for some reason just about every picture came out blurry, but you know something… “SNOW WHAT!” 😉
You can purchase the Snow What Penguin Holiday Sweater from Avenue Plus Size Clothing and also browse their entire collection in store on on-line. I am most certain you will find a sweater to fulfill your fashion needs, whether it’s for an office party or Ladies Night with the girls. Happy Shopping! xx, Nij
