It is unfair to give someone the “job” of loving you- when you don’t love yourself. -Nijah J.

Nijah Says

When Nijah started the Youtube vlog, her goal was to inspire a conversation amongst single people about the plight of being single and how they are handling it. She often shied away from this topic because at one point, she felt like her singleness was a burden, not to mention, there is sometimes a stigma attached to being single especially if you are over thirty. But as she began to really look at the beauty of her singleness and find her purpose, she started to see her singleness as a blessing. While many focus on being found, God impressed upon Nijah to come from the perspective of finding out who you are and embracing your time of singleness. She believes that this time can be taken to pursue a passion or higher degree, travel, explore, and can be extremely fulfilling once you change your mind set about being single.

As she came face to face with the woman in the mirror, she realized that there were many broken areas in her life. So she made a conscious effort to get to the root of the baggage that weighed her down – low self-esteem, negative body image and heal from childhood hurts. After enduring the pain of the process, she began to walk in victory and open up a discussion for singles by letting them know that they can still win, even if they are single.

“To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”

-Ecclesiastes 3:1

While her love story is being written, Nijah continues to challenge herself daily and pursue her dreams without limits.
