Anybody who knows me, knows that I looooooove inspirational tees. Spreading positive messages is always a plus especially when you’re wearing what you declare. It is empowering not only to the person wearing it but to the readers as well.
So it’s no secret that upon seeing
Be YOU Jewels’ Instagram giveaway for the “I am BeYOUtiful” tee, I quickly entered. To my surprise, I won and couldn’t wait to get it home and wear it!
I love this tee because of the message that resonates – body positivity, self confidence and self love – 3 areas that I used to struggle with. It’s easy to lose yourself, especially in a society where beauty is often defined by one particular look and/or dress size. Clearly I don’t fit that mold (and never did), but fortunately, I am one of many women who have come to love myself regardless of what society thinks. Yes, that includes loving my full figured frame, double digit feet and my non flat tummy without resolve…and you should too!

| I speak life and love to myself…do you? |
I’ve been smiling from ear to ear since receiving my beautiful pocket mirror from my girl Ivy LaArtista of See Body Love Self. It’s the perfect gift for me, especially since I didn’t always like what I saw in the mirror. But my, how the times have changed! Where I once felt “unpretty”, I now see beauty…not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well. Keep in mind that I was the girl who hated taking pictures, so to see me now is truly a blessing.
My mission today is to encourage women to become whole in all areas of their lives and to love themselves. TOGETHER we can wage war on that monster of low self-esteem and negative body image once and for all.
So, congratulations to Ivy on the 2ndanniversary of her business See Body Love Self for being influential in the quest for positive body image. She has taught me a whole lot and has been a blessing to me in so many ways. Thank you for handpicking the perfect gift for me because I have learned the importance of choosing words that give both life and love.

Red nail polish and red lipstick are two of my favorite things. But never in a million years did I think I’d “need” a red dress until I saw this Metal Accent Wrap Dress. While minding my own business, I was perusing Avenue’s site and this beauty popped up…I think I even heard it call my name, lol!
Let me just say that that this dress is gorgeous and Avenue picked the perfect color. It’s bold and clearly makes a statement.
So the dress details… It’s knit material so it stretches. At the neckline, there is a metal accent ring – which gives a peekaboo effect. There is also ruching at the waist, creating a nice silhouette and also giving the illusion of a wrap dress. Needless to say this sassy number fits well and is definitely a must have in any curvy beauty’s closet.

Dress – Avenue

When it comes to eggs, I’ve only had them scrambled, as an omelette and occasionally hard boiled. So when I heard about this Egg Muffin craze, I was like wow, this is something worth trying.
I added my ingredients in a bowl- turkey sausage, peppers, onions, a little bit of milk, mushrooms and a few leaves of spinach (and of course the eggs). I sprayed my muffin pan with some nonstick spray then spooned the mixture into the muffin cups, trying to make them as even as possible. Then I put them in the oven for about 20-25 minutes…and voila! As soon as they came out of the oven, I sprinkled shredded cheese on top and that was it…super easy right? And oh, they were delicious!!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I looooove dresses. Ok there, my secret is out! So it’s no surprise that this beauty is in my closet. For starters, electric blue is one of my favorite shades. It’s so regal in my opinion. Next, the length is perfect. Because I have long legs, some times the dresses just aren’t long enough to even reach mid thigh, but clearly, the Avenue had me in mind. Lastly, the material is polyester/spandex, so ladies it hugs your womanly curves, giving a nice silhouette.
This is the way that I styled the dress: I paired it with my black suede boots and faux leather jacket, which can be worn during the day or at night. Then I added my silver belt to give it a little pop- which I liked too! The belted look would be fine for a girl’s night out or even date night. *wink* This dress is so versatile that it could also be worn with leggings for another great look!
I am 100% confident that you will turn heads (and get a bunch of compliments ) whichever way you style the Abstract Blue Wave Dolman Dress!
